There’s no context for this picture here, but this was posted on Veterans Day – apparently Bush has been doing a project where he paints portraits of soldiers who were wounded carrying out his orders in Iraq and Afghanistan. There’s speculation, but no confirmation, that it’s part of an art therapy program for substance abuse (which would make sense), but either way it’s definitely part of a therapy program. I don’t know, I find this very humanizing. It’s weird to me to really feel for GWB after having grown up during his presidency and hated so many of his governing decisions, but here we are.
